Well-known ornithologist from Berehovo and expert of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies, Leonid Pokrytiuk constantly generates many ideas. He shares his ideas with colleagues, young people, and the whole world through modern means of communication. Leonid regularly conducts exciting environmental and educational activities, passing his knowledge and experience to the younger generation. Nobody is indifferent after Mr. Pokrytiuk’s classes, workshops, or excursions. Children are involved in feeding birds, making feeders and birdhouses, and other useful things encouraged by new knowledge about birds.

Ornithological everyday life of the Berehovo Public Center “Everyone can help” is extremely eventful, in large part due to the seed of Leonid Pokrytyuk. “We are currently making nesting structures for the scops owls and songbirds. And we are trying to introduce an online broadcast of the scops owls making nests, – says the ornithologist.

He announced a workshop on coloring ecological bags with drawings of owls. Leonid knows a lot about them and is able to tell in such a way that everyone listens, as it’s said, with their mouths open. Mr. Pokrytyuk will pay special attention to swallows during the upcoming planned ecological and educational events. He prepares thematic informational materials for classes. There will be a workshop on making artificial nests for swallows, and participants will learn to make action figures of these fragile birds from paper. No less important work is the preparation of an informational stand “How to properly feed birds.”

The Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies thanks Leonid Pokrytiuk for his professional and active work, which is carried out in cooperation with the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies – IERS (headed by Alexander Bokotey) and the German Nature Conservation Union (#NABU), project coordinator Ivan Tymofeiev.
