Videokonferenz im Rahmen der Renovabis-Pfingstaktion 2021

19. Mai 2021 im Rahmen der Pfingstaktion 2021 veranstaltete das Osteuropa-Hilfswerk der Katholischen Kirche in Deutschland RENOVABIS ein Online-Treffen von Vertretern des Diözesanrates der Katholiken der Erzdiözese Bamberg und Passau, des Instituts für ökologische und religiöse Studien in Uschhorod und des Interreligiösen zivilen Umweltforums Osteuropas zum Thema „Die Ukraine zwischen Tschernobyl und ökologischer Zukunftsarbeit im interreligiösen Netzwerk“.
Oleksandr Bokotei, Leiter des Instituts für ökologische und religiöse Studien, Exekutivsekretär des Interreligiösen Umweltforums Osteuropas, hielt die Grundsatzrede. Es wurde über die gesellschaftlichen und kirchlichen Herausforderungen der Ukraine im Bereich Ökologie und Umwelt berichtet, als auch die Stellung erörtert, was der spezielle Beitrag der Ukraine zur Wahrnehmung von Schöpfungsverantwortung sein könnte. Die Erfolge und die aktuelle Arbeit der Organisationen wurden ebenfalls vorgestellt.
Der Bericht von Herrn Bokotei erregte großes Interesse bei deutschen Kollegen und zahlreiche zusätzliche Fragen, die der Sprecher fachlich beantwortete.
Die Simultanübersetzung der Konferenz wurde von Larysa Pavlyshynets und Oksana Mokryanyn bereitgestellt.

Berehovo gymnasium students learn to watch birds

Students from the “Opre Roma” gymnasium in Berehovo, including Roma children, recently visited the “Everyone Can Help” volunteer center for an educational excursion. Their goal was to explore the world of bird observation and learn about different bird nest structures and feeders. Leonid Pokrytyuk, an experienced ornithologist at the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies led them on this journey.

Krystyna Solanska, a teacher at Rativtsi Gymnasium and an eco-activist of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies (IERS), organized a search quest named “Find the Primroses” for 5th-grade students who learn in Hungarian. This activity aimed for the students to identify the first spring flowers in the school yard and nearby fields, and to practice saying their names in Ukrainian, English, and Hungarian.
